The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Northwest Arkansas
Northeast Oklahoma
* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 915 PM
until 300 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include…
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY…Scattered thunderstorms, including a mix of storm clusters
and supercells, are expected to form over and move into northeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas through early morning Monday. Large
hail to 1.5 inches in diameter and damaging gusts of 60-70 mph will
be the main severe threats.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40
statute miles north and south of a line from 20 miles south of Ponca
City OK to 35 miles south southeast of Monett MO. For a complete

REMEMBER…A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
