The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
The northwest Nebraska Panhandle
Extreme southwest South Dakota
Eastern Wyoming

* Effective this Saturday night from 600 PM until Midnight MDT.

* Primary threats include…
Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY…Scattered supercells are expected to form in eastern
Wyoming this evening with an attendant threat for occasional large
hail up to 1.5 to 1.75 inches in diameter. Some upscale growth into
a cluster will also be possible by early tonight, with some increase
in the potential for severe outflow gusts of 60-70 mph.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles north and south of a line from 60 miles northwest of
Douglas WY to 20 miles southeast of Chadron NE. For a complete

REMEMBER…A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
