The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Central and southern Wisconsin
Lake Michigan

* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 705 PM
until 100 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include…
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY…A band of storms with embedded supercells and bowing line
segments will spread east-southeastward across central and southern
Wisconsin through the early overnight hours. Damaging winds of
60-70 mph and isolated large hail of 1-1.5 inches in diameter will
be the main threats.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65
statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles east northeast
of Wausau WI to 5 miles southwest of Janesville WI. For a complete

REMEMBER…A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
